Using Artificial Intelligence for Newsletters
My ChatGPT in now my Google. I use it for everything!
Here are examples of using AI for research, content creation, and image generation for creating a topical newsletter. We are covering how you can use AI for newsletters in the upcoming training seminar, as well as other uses.
Scripture Research
Do you need to quickly find Biblical scriptures for your topic? We asked AI to provide scriptures on light being covered. Here is the response we received:
There are several biblical references to light being covered, obscured, or hidden. Here are a few examples:
- Job 38:9 (NIV): “when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness,”
- Psalm 18:11 (NIV): “He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him— the dark rain clouds of the sky.”
- Psalm 97:2 (NIV): “Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.”
- Isaiah 50:3 (NIV): “I clothe the heavens with darkness and make sackcloth its covering.”
- Amos 8:9 (NIV): “In that day,” declares the Sovereign Lord, “I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight.”
These verses often use imagery of clouds, darkness, or the covering of the heavens to symbolize God’s power, sovereignty, or judgment.
Interesting Image Creation
Instead of spending hours searching for copyright-free images for the newsletter, you can use AI to generate specifically what you need. Not only are the images quickly produced, but they can even have an artistic flair that makes them visually engaging.
We told AI to create a solar eclipse with a dark background. Here are the images it produced.
Selecting one of the images and applying a cinematic addition produced this artistic rendering:
Interesting Content
You can prompt AI to give you ideas for your newsletter. We asked AI, “Describe the stunning visual spectacle of a total solar eclipse” and received the following response (with slight modifications):
A total solar eclipse is one of the most awe-inspiring natural phenomena that can be observed from Earth. Here’s a description of the stunning visual spectacle experienced during a total solar eclipse:
- The Darkening of the Sky: As the moon moves between the Earth and the Sun, it gradually obscures the Sun’s bright light. During the moments leading up to totality, the sky begins to darken, resembling dusk, even though it may be midday.
- The Solar Corona: Just before totality, the last sliver of the Sun is covered, and the sky plunges into darkness. At this moment, the Sun’s corona, its outer atmosphere, becomes visible. The corona appears as a shimmering, ethereal halo surrounding the blackened disk of the Moon. It consists of delicate, wispy tendrils of plasma extending millions of kilometers into space, forming an otherworldly crown around the obscured Sun.
- The Diamond Ring Effect: As totality approaches its end, a dazzling burst of light known as the “diamond ring effect” occurs. A single bright spot of sunlight breaks through a valley on the Moon’s limb, creating the appearance of a brilliant diamond set against a dark background. This fleeting moment is a breathtaking finale to the eclipse.
- Shadow Bands: Before and after totality, observers may also witness an unusual phenomenon known as shadow bands. These are faint, rippling bands of shadow that dance across the ground in the moments leading up to and following totality. They result from the Sun’s light being refracted by turbulent air in Earth’s atmosphere, creating a mesmerizing display reminiscent of sunlight shimmering on the bottom of a swimming pool.
- The Surrounding Landscape: As the sky darkens during totality, the landscape takes on an eerie twilight glow. Colors may appear muted, and shadows become sharp and distinct. Animals may behave strangely, with birds returning to their roosts and nocturnal creatures emerging.
Overall, the visual spectacle of a total solar eclipse is a mesmerizing experience that leaves a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to witness it. It serves as a powerful reminder of the grandeur and beauty of our universe.
Let Your Creativity Flow - Poetry!
We thought it would be interesting to see if AI could produce poetry related to the solar eclipse. Here’s what it came up with after just a few tweaks to our prompting:
In the grand theater of the sky, a dance unfolds,
Where sun and moon in motion bold.
Their embrace creates a moment rare,
A solar eclipse, a celestial affair.
In daylight’s hush, shadows play,
As the moon’s path crosses the sun’s bright way.
Darkness reigns in the midst of day,
Painting the heavens in shadows’ array.
A sight both humbling and profound,
In God’s glorious universe, where wonders abound.
Reminded of His artistry and grace,
In the dance of celestial embrace.
In the eclipse’s gaze, His hand we see,
Crafting beauty for all to perceive.
Life’s cycles echo through His design,
In the eclipse’s fleeting, ethereal shine.
Lost in wonder, lost in trance,
We witness the work of His divine romance.
For in its beauty, we’re reminded true,
Of the wonders that God’s universe imbues.
